Donated books are crucial to the success of programs supported by The Friends of the
Alameda Free Library.
Some donations may be kept for the Library's collection, but most are sold in the
Friends' semi-annual book sales. Either way, your gift is most welcome and provides a
financial benefit to the Library.
The Friends accept books, DVDs, CDs, tapes, craft instructions and many other types of
materials. If you have questions about whether your materials are appropriate for donation,
please contact the Friends (janina27@gawab.com).
Donations should be taken to the Friends' book sorting location in the basement of the
former Children's Library at 1429
Oak Street. Friends volunteers are onsite Mondays between 9:30 am and 1:30 pm
to accept your donations. Off-street parking is available next to the building.
Small donations, up to one small box, can be delivered to the main or branch libraries
during open hours.
If you need to drop the books off at a time when Friends members aren't there, please
leave them in boxes in front of the door. Please do not drop off materials if there
is a chance of rain.
If you are unable to deliver and need to have the books picked up, you may contact the Friends
(janina27@gawab.com). |
