Oakland's
KaiserAir, Inc. Receives JAR-145 Certification As Maintenance Center
for European Business Jets
The
Joint Aviation Authorities, the European Union's equivalent of the
U.S. Federal Aviation Administration, has authorized KaiserAir,
Inc., a full-service aviation management company and fixed-base
operator at Oakland International Airport, to perform maintenance
and repairs on aircraft registered in its 19 member countries.
KaiserAir
is the only maintenance center in Northern California with this
designation, known as JAR-145. JAR-145 certificates are held by
less than 5 percent of the maintenance facilities in the United
States.
KaiserAir
already is the only FAR 145 Class 4 maintenance facility in the
San Francisco Bay Area that accepts transient aircraft on a regular
basis. The only other Bay Area FAR 145 Class 4 facility, licensed
by the Federal Aviation Administration to perform a full range of
services for jets, is the United Airlines Maintenance Center, also
at Oakland International Airport. Technicians are available 24 hours
a day, seven days a week.
JAR/Page 2 "We expect this new designation to be of major benefit
to our European clients," said Sandy Waters, KaiserAir vice president.
"This means that we can perform routine maintenance or a wide range
of repairs while an airplane is parked here. This is far more convenient
for the owner than waiting until he returns to Europe."
KaiserAir
is a full-service management company and fixed-base operator at
Oakland International Airport, specializing in the operation and
maintenance of Gulfstream, Hawker, Cessna and other business jet
aircraft.
